A man who made unfounded claims of corruption against a high-ranking police officer and threatened to kill her horse has narrowly escaped going to prison.
Jason Brown, of Empress Drive in Douglas, appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 44-year-old admitted harassment and threats to destroy property after making 999 calls and sending emails in February falsely claiming the officer took drugs.
He was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison suspended for two years with a two-year supervision order, and given a restraining order preventing him from contacting his victim for two years.
