Support being given to Mental Health Service staff

A working group set up to review the Mental Health Service after a man committed suicide says it will ensure lessons are learnt.

The Department of Health is currently overlooking eight recommendations made by a coroner following the death of 35-year-old Christopher Burrows.

He hung himself two days after leaving a mental health facility in 2011 – it’s since been ruled that his life could have been saved.

Head of the Mental Health Service Steve Chell says support is also being given to staff following the coroner's verdict (audio):
