Sugar tax should work in tandem with education says MHK

People on the Isle of Man need to be better educated about the dangers of sugar.

That's according to some politicians who have questioned plans for a new tax on sugary soft drinks. 
 
This week Tynwald voted to support the principle of bringing in the levy in order to raise government revenue
 
Douglas East MHK Clare Bettison said whilst sugar shouldn't be tackled in isolation there could be some positive benefits: 
 
 
Garff MHK Daphne Caine and Ramsey representative Lawrie Hooper said they were keen to see the issue tackled on a wider scale with more emphasis put on education:
