Treasury Minister Alex Allinson says specialists would be called in to figure out the rateable value of onshore wind farms.
He faced a question for written reply on the issue from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson.
Dr Allinson explained the value would depend on with windfarm's size and capacity, the number of turbines, the income it generated and where it was.
And he added a specialist firm would come up with a valuation which would be reviewed by the government's Valuation Office.
