The Island's Treasury Minister says a new tax on sugary soft drinks isn't a new 'stealth tax'.
This week in Tynwald, Alf Cannan MHK unveiled the new levy as part of his budget.
From April next year, the government will collect the money to be spent improving health.
Mr Cannan says the decision to impose the extra costs was forced on the Island:
