The Department of Infrastructure says the cost of social housing repairs has risen by more than a third in five years.
A freedom of information request asked for the average cost of carrying out maintenance on the department's rental properties since 2012.
The DOI says the price of planned maintenance has stayed steady at around £1,300 per property per year.
However, the price of repair work and reactive maintenance has jumped from £595 a year in 2012 to £935 last year.
