A second casino licence is to be made available on the Isle of Man with expressions of interest sought from any interested parties.
The Council of Minister decided that granting a second licence at this time would be commercially viable and should be pursued.
They are however not endorsing a stand-alone casino and have published a list of pre requisites.
Primarily the casino would need to be part of a 4 or 5 star hotel complex and a clear plan of how to attract off Island visitors would need to be established.
If given the go ahead it’s anticipated it would be a significant building project which would create employment opportunities in the Island’s construction industry.
Economic Development Minister Alan Bell told 3FM he believes such a development would bring many positive opportunities to the Island.(AUDIO ABOVE)
