Department of Community Culture and Leisure Launch Activity Hall Scheme
A significant Community, Culture and Leisure scheme has been launched geared toward serving the smaller areas of the Island.
The scheme is aiming to provide multi-purpose activity halls for those areas of the Island not adequately served by existing community and sports facilities.
Adverts have been placed appealing for potential partners to register their interest – the halls would be a cheap simple steel construction of 50 by 20 metres, surrounded in a tough plastic membrane – they have a shelf life of 20 years.
It’s thought that the voluntary sector and local authorities would especially benefit from the scheme.
Information packs can be obtained from Dawn Maddrell, Head of Community, Culture and Arts, on 686703 or email dawn.maddrell@gov.im
