Sam Barks pulls out of Awards for Excellence

The organisers of the Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence have received last minute bad news.

Local star Sam Barks who was set to feature heavily throughout the nights proceedings has been forced to pull out.

Her management informed the organising team on Tuesday, citing an unmissable opportunity for the reason.

Details on the opportunity are as yet vague but we've been informed that it could be life changing for the Manx starlet.

In her place X Factor contestant Lucie Jones will be performing, she co-starred with Sam in the West End production of Les Miserables.

The ceremony will be taking place this evening.
