Sam Barks crowned best newcomer female at Empire Awards

Sam Barks yesterday scooped a top prize at one of the UK’s biggest film award nights.

Laxey girl Sam picked up the best female newcomer for her work in Les Miserables as Eponine.

It was an extra special recognition of her performance as it was voted for by readers of Empire magazine.

Sam is currently on Island filming the festive film 'A Christmas Candle'.
