Shoppers in Douglas may have noticed the scaffolding on Chester Street car park in recent weeks.
It’s been erected to provide access to the roof of Loch Promenade Medical Centre, which is being re-clad due to persistent water leaks.
The practice moved into the car park in 2009, and looks after more than 4,000 registered patients.
Kinrade Construction is installing the new roofing system for the Department of Infrastructure, which estimates the work will be complete by 10 November.
The department says continuing to repair the existing roof was no longer ‘economically or operationally viable’.
