Douglas RNLI has paid tribute to a long-serving Crewman.
The charity says John McCreadie passed away at Hospice after a period of illness.
He first joined Douglas Lifeboat Station in the 1990s, and was later involved in the search for the Solway Harvester during the 2000 tragedy.
John went on to serve as coxswain and launch authority.
Douglas RNLI describes him as having led countless lifeboat launches with with skill, professionalism and calm determination - adding his constant presence around the station will be greatly missed.
