Restaurant plans for former bank

Plans are underway to refurbish and redevelop an old bank in Onchan.

Gold Properties has submitted a planning application to turn the former Isle of Man Bank into a restaurant and residential units.

The building on Main Road has been vacant since the bank closed in February last year.

The building is said to be in a 'reasonable but deteriorating condition' and 'greatly in need of attention' both internally and externally.

Gold Properties says it believes the plans are 'very viable' and would make a 'positive' contribution to the village centre.
