Vital repairs have been made to the King Edward Pier after the Ben My Chree collided with it earlier this month.
The vessel hit the Number 5 berth causing severe damage to the pile and fender, associated fixings and associated structures also needed to be removed.
Structural engineers, blacksmiths and divers from the Department of Infrastructure’s Operations Division were all utilized in the repair work.
With the damaged materials removed the Ben my Chree can continue to use the number 5 berth for the foreseeable future, including the TT fortnight.
