The Social Care Minister has reacted angrily to a request by Douglas Council to increase rents across all its properties.
The proposal would have seen an 11.25 per cent hike, instead of adopting the revised rents point system.
The situation has left many tenants not knowing how much rent they will be expected to pay come April.
Minister Chris Robertshaw has branded the alternative proposal blatantly unfair to many tenants:
