Relay for Life expected to raise tens of thousands

Tens of thousands of pounds are expected to be raised today as the Island rallies in the face of cancer.

Walkers are limbering up for the start of the 24-hour Relay for Life which will take place at the NSC in Douglas.

The event encourages people to "celebrate, remember and fight back" against the disease - all money raised is donated to Cancer Research UK to fund lifesaving research.

Nicola Walkingshaw is the event's chair - she says the generosity of the Manx public can never be estimated:
