Retaining new police recruits has become challenging, according to the Island's chief constable.
Gary Roberts said over the past year several new officers left the force, with some saying the work was more difficult than they expected.
Work's currently underway to change the recruitment, training and supervision process to address the problem.
Mr Roberts said while professional standards remain high there were some difficult events during the year- one officer was convicted of drink driving while another was convicted of an offence of dishonesty- unconnected with their police duties.
