The Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) plays an important role in the smooth running of the Island's prison service by going to Jurby Prison on a regular basis to listen to inmates issues and concerns.
They will ensure that prisoners' rights are being upheld in terms of their treatment, accommodation and standard of care.
IMB chairman Aileen Gelling, said: 'This is an opportunity for people to make an active contribution to the Island's prison service. Membership of the IMB is interesting and varied and carries a lot of responsibility. We can go anywhere in the prison and look at any aspect of prison life to check that everything is running properly.'
