Record-breaking Marathon for Manx runners

It proved to be a record-breaking day for Manx runners in the London Marathon on Sunday.

Of the 50 Island athletes who took part, eight managed to break the magical three-hour barrier – the most to ever to do so.

Jess Petersson who was the first Manx runner home by a clear 20 minutes in a new Island record for a female runner in 2hr 34min.

3FM’s Sunday Breakfast Show presenter Adam Russell did the 26.2-mile race in 2hr 56min.

Amazingly, four other Island runners finished alongside him – all crossing the line within a minute of each other.

Two-times World Superbike champion James Toseland proved he's almost as quick on his feet as he is on two wheels recording a very impressive 3hr 14min.
