The waddle of Humboldt penguins includes 10 chicks which hatched last year and four which were born in 2019 as part of an internationally recognised breeding programme.
The animals have now settled in at the Exploris aquarium in Portaferry into a brand new salt water pool and will continue to be part of the European Endangered Soecies breeding initiative.
Curragh’s General Manager, Kathleen Graham, says she’s delighted to see the chicks arriving safe and sound and the wildlife park is proud to do its bit to expand the captive population.
