A department store in the North has announced it's closing down.
Looney's of Ramsey in Parliament Street announced on its Facebook page this morning that the business has taken the difficult decision to cease trading.
In the post, the owners thanked their dedicated staff and all of their customers for their loyalty and continued support throughout the years.
Ramsey Town Commissioner Chairman Alby Oldham commented: 'Looneys has been operating for the last 85 years and it is an iconic business, I am shocked and disappointed to hear the announcement this morning that they are to close.
'I am sure that the decision to close has been very difficult heart wrenching for this family-owned business.
'I wish the owners the very best for the future and I will be in contact with the Department for Enterprise to understand what assistance is available to help the staff.'
