Public's views sought for End of Life Care Strategy

Minister for Health David Anderson said the results of the consultation will provide valuable data and real insight into the taboo topic of death.

A consultation has been launched by the Department of Health to get the public’s views on end of life care available on the Island, and where it can be improved.

Minister for Health David Anderson said the results of the consultation will provide valuable data and real insight into the taboo topic of death.

It will give the public the chance to express their opinions on how they’d like spend their last valuable months with their loved ones and family.

The Department’s new End of Life Care Strategy will be shaped directly by the views expressed in the questionnaires.

The End of Life Care Project is a two year government project which is funded by Macmillan Cancer Support with the aim of producing an Isle of Man End of Life Care Strategy at the end of 2012.

The questionnaire is anonymous can be obtained by either contacting Kirstie Turner End of Life Care Project Facilitator, or on the web site or by collection from various sites e.g. GP surgeries, chemists, commissioners , libraries, Crookall House, sea terminal, Nobles.
