Police are warning people to be wary after reports of a hoax caller claiming to be from Microsoft.
The scammer - who claims to be from New York - tells people they have a virus and then asks them to do various things to their computer to fix it.
Officers are warning that callers 'only have one goal' and that's to obtain personal details and commit crime.
They're urging people not to give out personal information to people you don't know, no matter how genuine they sound.
