Parking on Douglas Promenade walkway has opened today.
The two-hour disc zone between the War Memorial and Bottleneck Car Park will be in place for an indefinite period.
The Department of Infrastructure says this has been introduced to 'ease pressure' while the refurbishment programme on the promenade takes place.
It added it hopes the extra spaces will benefit residents, retailers and visitors while the work is ongoing.
