A Ramsey man who was sentenced for drugs offences in February has admitted smuggling a mobile phone into prison.
26-year-old Jake Ford had inserted the phone, a USB cable and an earpiece internally before he was sentenced to immediate custody at Douglas Courthouse on February 16th.
He made and received numerous calls and text messages in the three days which followed whilst he was temporarily housed on the segregation unit.
The haul was discovered when prison officers searched his cell - they found the items wrapped in cling film and hidden in a bag of sugar.
At Douglas Courthouse yesterday he pleaded guilty to introducing articles to the prison - he'll be sentenced on May 24th.
