The Island's postal service says it would be 'very disappointed' if workers voted for strike action.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) is seeking support for it over changes to pay and conditions.
Chair of IOM Post Office, Julie Edge is looking to reassure customers, saying if strike action occurs it has a 'robust contingency plan'.
Following an emergency meeting in September, CWU's Deputy General Secretary Postal, Terry Pullinger, said it comes in the wake of what he calls 'the most horrific' proposed changes he'd seen.
Ms Edge added it's open to further talks with CWU at any time to avoid possible disruption.
