Port Erin is now home to a new swimming pontoon.
In a post on social media, Commissioners say the rafts -which have been a popular feature within Port Erin Bay were at the end of their life.
As a result, the Board reviewed several options and opted for a replacement pontoon which will have a 'significantly longer life' than the rafts.
It includes ladders to assist users climbing out of the water, plenty of space for people to enjoy being out and cleats to allow paddleboarders, kayakers, aquabikers and small sailing dingy to attach for a break.
Port Erin Commissioners Chair, Mr Godfrey Egee said, “This is another fantastic addition to Port Erin’s fabulous beach.
There has been a marked increase in visitors to the beach over the past several years and the replacement pontoon will allow visitors to make the best of the excellent bathing water quality in Port Erin bay.”
