Polish airmen to be remembered at Island's memorial

The Island's governor will help remember Polish airmen who gave their lives during World War 2 this week.

Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer will be at the wreath-laying for Polish airmen whose sacrifice is commemorated on a memorial in Douglas.

The ceremony will take place at the Centenary Gardens on Queens Terrace in the capital on Friday, June 19.

11 Polish pilots and airmen of Polish 302 and 307 fighter squadrons lost their lives on or near the Island during the war.
