Police say they seized a vehicle at the weekend they suspect was using red diesel fuel.
The Roads Policing Unit says its officers stopped the driver on Saturday afternoon.
Customs and Excise officers will now examine the vehicle and could take further action.
Police say the fuel, taxed at a lower rate because it's used in industries such as agriculture, is illegal for general road users.
