Police have revealed they were swamped by calls during last night's severe flooding.
Between 2pm yesterday and 6am this morning there were 177 emergency calls made on the 999 number.
This was in addition to 1,225 calls to the non-emergency line.
The Department of Infrastructure also handled hundreds of calls and dispatched staff to respond to incidents including a landslide on the Mountain Road which saw 750 tonnes of debris fall onto the highway.
