Plans have been unveiled which will see the existing Lord Street Police freed up for new development.
As Home Affairs struggle to make £2 million of extra savings they have identified that by adding a new custody block to Police headquarters they will be able to move all operations out of Lord Street.
The majority of the savings will come from staffing cut backs however, whether that be natural wastage or enforced redundancy.
