The Manx company hoping to buy Stobart Air and Carlisle Lake District Airport has called in police over the paperwork from one of its backers.
Ettyl was to buy both from a London-listed company in a deal worth tens of millions of pounds, but the deal ran into trouble when it emerged the original funding proposals had fallen through.
Now, Ettyl says it's raised concerns with the Isle of Man Constabulary about an issue with the paperwork supplied by one of its proposed third-party funders.
It added it's now in discussions to find alternative finance providers.
