The constabulary investigates all reports of possible violations of lockdown rules and takes any suspected breaches seriously.
That's according to Superintendent Stephen Maddocks who's aiming to reassure residents over the issue as he believes there's a general feeling from the public Police are not dealing with potential rulebreakers.
His comments come after authorities revealed yesterday 80 people have been 'warned' for minor first time breaches of Coronavirus restrictions and 17 people have been arrested.
Mr Maddocks adds enforcement is always usually a last option, however a clear breach, such as a person who was Covid positive going out in public would immediately be arrested and dealt with.
