Police appeal for witnesses to animal cruelty

Police are investigating two incidents of animal cruelty after a goat was killed in Kirk Michael.

The young animal was killed after being crushed by a falling gate which officers say was left deliberately untied.

It's not known if this was malicious or just carelessness but the person on the land - which is behind the Mite Pub on Baltic Road - would have been trespassing.

In another incident on Monday another goat was locked in a shed after the lock had been broken off causing the animal great distress.

Anyone who can help police with their inquiries has been asked to contact Peel Police Station on 842208.
