The upcoming Food and Drink Festival won't be handing out plastic bags.
That's according to Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Geoffrey Boot who was questioned in the House of Keys yesterday.
He was asked by Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse what his department is doing to encourage Manx food producers to use non-plastic materials.
In response, Mr Boot said for the 10th Food and Drink Festival plastic bags won't be used by producers, and all involved will be asked to show one example of how they're becoming more environmentally friendly.
