Planning permission for 15 telegraph poles in Peel has been turned down by planners.
Manx Telecom applied for the poles in Rheast Bridson, Corrins Way, Creggans Avenue and Ballaquane Park.
The new infrastructure was to provide fibreoptic connections before the Island's copper network is switched off.
This morning, the planning committee turned down the proposals, criticizing the siting, scale and visual intrusion the poles would cause.
