Owners may be forced to improve dilapidated properties

Building owners on the Island could be forced to improve the look of their dilapidated properties.

The Infrastructure Minister says derelict and rundown buildings are blighting the landscape - it's something Phil Gawne is keen to address: 
 
 
His department has recently called for landowners to suggest areas which could be developed for employment purposes saying the economy will stall if investors can't get their hands on land. 
 
It's led to many people asking why government isn't utilising its own derelict sites - Mr Gawne says they are a work in progress:
