Over 100 crews Island bound for Rally IOM

Over 100 rally crews will descend on the Island next week for the three day Rally Isle of Man event.

Due to the Island's reputation on the rallying scene competitors are being attracted from Australia, Belgium, France, Japan and Egypt, as well as all of the home countries.

Last year's champions Arron Newby and Rob Fagg will be looking for a repeat victory - they'll be up against tough competition from Nigel Cannell and trials star Steve Colley both driving Mitsubishis.

Rally press officer Chris Boyde says although not the draw it once was a strong turn-out of spectators is still expected:
