Oval roundabout revealed at Broadway

A new ‘oval roundabout’ has been unveiled at the bottom of Broadway in Douglas.

According to myprom.im - All the current street furniture (traffic lights, islands etc) will be removed with an oval shape roundabout instead.

Officials say this has proved to be a success in other similar size towns in the UK.

Further, there is a new roundabout at the bottom of Church Road - again, officials state  this will help with the flow of traffic.

So far, it’s sparked a controversial response - with more than 450 comments - the majority opposed - it’s been described as ‘monstrous’ and ‘a waste of time.’
