Organisers confirm Garden Party is going ahead

High winds and rain meant thousands of festival goers were sent home from the site last night after it was deemed too much of a safety risk to both performers on the main stage and to those attending. 

Friday’s ticket holders have been invited to attend today’s event free of charge if they present their ticket or wristband at the entrance. 

Those who can’t attend can apply for a full refund. 

The line up for today includes The Charlatans and Starsailor frontman James Walsh – those headlining yesterday will not appear on the bill. 

Organiser Gianni Fabrizia said it had been frustrating but the team was thinking positively about today:
