Government has confirmed a new case of Coronavirus on the Isle of Man today.
The individual was already self-isolating for 14 days having recently returned to the Island after attending a medical appointment in the UK.
The case was detected through a screening test on admission to Noble’s Hospital for a separate, unrelated condition.
Safeguards are in place at the hospital to protect care professionals, patients and visitors, including enhanced personal protective equipment and patients with COVID-19 being cared for on a separate ward.
The person's quarantine has now been extended by a further two weeks and this includes any other members of the household.
Contact tracing has been completed.
It brings the total number of active Covid-19 cases locally to nine, none of which are in the community.
