Onchan Commissioners are appealing for an "open dialogue" on social housing with central government.
That's according to commissioner Rob Callister who says they should work collaboratively to ensure vulnerable people are prioritised over balancing the budget.
In Tynwald last month Health and Social Care Minister Howard Quayle insisted that public sector rents are now achieving "more realistic levels".
