The chairman of Onchan Commissioners has downplayed suggestions there’s a ‘toxic atmosphere’ at the authority.
James Cherry resigned this week, claiming he’d suffered ‘personal attacks’ from fellow commissioners, which affected his mental health.
Chairman of the board Robin Turton says members are always reminded to treat each other with respect, but robust discussion is part of the job.
Mr Turton admits he was disappointed Mr Cherry didn’t speak to him before deciding to resign, and says it was a pleasure to work with him.
