The Office of Fair Trading is appealing to the public to be careful when employing tradesmen after a cowboy builder was prosecuted.
It says it’s trying to rid the Island of people who prey on trusting homeowners and vulnerable members of society.
Last week Crosswell Alan Barton was handed a three month suspended jail sentence by the courts after pleading guilty to deception.
He’d been trading under the name of Simply Roofing when he dishonestly obtained over £4,000 for work he hadn’t completed.
