Offshore windfarm benefits to Island will be primarily financial

A series of information days next month will set to lay out the economic benefits that an offshore windfarm in Manx waters could bring.

The Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm Project will be based roughly 6-12 nautical miles off Maughold head.

If approval is granted it would still be a number of years before completion of the works.

We caught up with Orsted's Development Director for the Isle of Man, John Galloway, he said although the energy generated would be sent elsewhere around the UK, it would have huge monetary benefits for the Island.
