Off Island Engineers Brought In To Aid Gas Supply Restoration

Colby Should Be Restored Today.

Work is continuing this morning to restore gas supplies after a mechanical failure at Port St Mary Production plant led to almost a thousand properties being without gas.

There's was a major disruption to homes in both Castletown and Colby yesterday

Over 750 customers have been affected

Engineers are working on the problem, but need to visit properties to ensure that work is completed safely.

Manx Gas will be visiting more residents with no gas supply throughout today and this evening.

Acting MD at Manx Gas Robert Gardner said Colby should be restored by today. (audio above)

Engineers are getting help from off Island to ensure the problem is fixed as quickly as possible. Jersey and Guernsey are sending contractors to assist.
