Police are urging drivers to obey the 10mph speed limit on the Douglas Promenade walkway.
The roads policing unit says it's been receiving reports of motorists ignoring the restriction and unmarked vehicles will now be used to monitor behaviour.
Officers are reminding people the walkway is also shared by pedestrians and cyclists as well as those going to and from their vehicles.
The constabulary is urging people 'show patience' on the stretch.
