A pensioner from Kirk Michael has been fined £500 after destroying a set of traffic lights.
81-year-old Felicity Jane Cain crashed into them on Peel Road in Douglas on May 24th.
At Douglas Courthouse last week she admitted to driving without due care and attention.
Police were called to the junction with Pulrose Road at 10.45pm after reports of a crash - they found her Toyota Yaris with significant front-end damage.
The prosecutor told the court Cain had 'completely destroyed' the traffic lights but had since paid almost £1,900 for them to be repaired.
Cain's advocate said there were no issues with her fitness to drive adding: "It's a simple case of misjudging the line of driving."
Magistrates also ordered her to pay £50 in prosecution costs and endorsed her driving licence with six penalty points.
