There have been 69 assaults on medical staff in the last 12 months.
The figures were confirmed in response to a written question in Tynwald yesterday.
Douglas South MHK Kate Beecroft asked Health and Social Care Minister how many assaults there had been in each of the last 12 months, broken down by ward.
Mr Ashford revealed there have been 4 incidents concerning doctors, but 69 regarding all clinical staff.
