Short-term changes are being made at Noble’s Hospital to ensure there are enough beds for patients.
The Department of Health says it’s necessary to convert some surgical beds to medical beds while it experiences a particularly busy period.
This may mean reducing the elective non-urgent surgical admissions to the hospital.
Some medical patients will now be treated on Ward 4 – the gynecological ward – which the department says is an ‘unprecedented decision’.
Any patients who will be affected by the changes will be contacted directly.
